Pioneer Edition
Grades 2 - 3
Pathfinder Edition
Grades 4 - 6
National Geographic Explorer Pioneer and Pathfinder editions give you the perfect resource to develop nonfiction literacy skills as you teach science and social studies core content. High interest text, engaging visuals, and specific reading strategies allow you to meet your classroom and NCLB goals as you motivate your students in grades 2-6.

Use Pioneer (grades 2-3 reading level) and Pathfinder (grades 4-6 reading level) individually or combine them for differentiated instruction. Both editions look the same and deliver the same content, but readability levels, vocabulary, and concept load differ. Only the teacher knows the difference between editions, and ALL students are learning, regardless of their reading level. You can mix and match your subscription according to the reading levels in your classroom.

An eight-page Teacher's Guide comes with every issue of Pioneer and Pathfinder, which includes a poster for your classroom.
Extreme Explorer
Grades 6 - 12
Specifically designed for striving readers in grades 6-12, Extreme Explorer will engage and motivate even the most reluctant reader. Fascinating stories and spectacular photographs teach students core science and social studies content as they develop their literacy skills. Specific reading strategies are highlighted at the start of every story, and text features help to build academic vocabulary. Each issue comes with an eight-page Teacher's Guide with a poster and additional teaching strategies, and the Extreme Explorer website translates one article from each issue into Spanish.
Let National Geographic Explorer bring the world to your students in grades K-12!
